Jesus is our Rock of Safety

When we invite the Spirit of the resurrected Jesus Christ to come to live in us, and we give Him first place in our lives, we say we are “born again.” Our first birth was from our mother, the second birth is into the family of God. Christ then lives WITHIN us. .

When trials and troubles come our way, we know that Jesus is in them with us. We can hide in His arms until the storm is past, and He will take good care of us.

In the Bible, Jesus is called our “Rock” in whom we can find safety during difficult days. We hide inside the Rock. Life has many storms, and each time we live through a new time of testing, we are pressed more and more inside the Rock. And each time we go into that hiding place, we become more and more and more like Jesus.

So let us never be afraid of the difficulties in life. If we have Jesus living INSIDE us, He puts us INSIDE of Him! We can hide in the Rock of Ages and sing the old hymn:

“Rock of Ages, cleft for me

Let me hide myself in Thee.”
