Divine Intervention

My daughter this week reminded me of the birth of her second child. She has never forgotten this obvious divine intervention in a difficult situation.

It was a bitterly cold, stormy day in western Canada. Visibility was almost nil as my son-in-law drove through the drifting snow to take her to the hospital. To make matters worse, the baby’s water had burst, making it necessary for my daughter to sit on a pile of bath towels to absorb the moisture. This elevated position in their small car caused her head to hit the roof each time they moved forward.

They were frightened. How could they ever arrive at the hospital, let alone be there on time?

Then suddenly, in front of their car a clear area appeared, just long enough for the car to move ahead. They glanced behind them and the storm was raging, drifting in as they drove on. Ahead of the clear area in front of them they could see absolutely nothing. But they proceeded directly to the hospital in time for the baby to arrive safely, driving inside the area miraculously cleared for them.

Can you now believe the Bible story of the crossing of the Red Sea? I can!
