God Wants to Help Us

We would all agree that God demonstrated His mercy in sending His Son as a sacrifice for our sins that we might live forever. Yet perhaps we haven’t understood the extent of God’s compassion and love for us.

If someone says “God is able,” we quickly agree. We know that nothing is impossible with God and that He will answer all prayers that are according to His will. But if someone tells us “God is willing,” we may not so quickly agree. Perhaps that is because we think God may not want to help us. But He wants the best for us because He loves us so much. He will answer every prayer with a “Yes”, “No”, or “Later.” Whatever He thinks will be to His glory, not ours, He will answer. But He is always willing to help us.

Isaiah said, “A bruised reed He shall not break.” When we are old and weak and bruised, God will strengthen us. When our candle of faith flickers, He will not blow it out but will fan the flame.

Jesus wants us to send our prayer requests to Him. He is waiting and willing to answer.
