Not I, But Christ in Me

"Christ in me" - my hope of glory,
Christ who died to set me free,
free from sin and guilt forever,
eternal life He's given me!

"Me in Christ" is my sure haven
from the temptings of the "I".
I must ever bow before Him -
bow the neck, and humbly die.

Die to self, to worldly pleasures,
die to praise or curse from man.
I must kneel prostrate before Him
only as the humble can.

When my neck of pride turns downward
safe within the arms of Christ,
accusations hurled by Satan
will not hurt, or cause me strife.

"Christ in me" - my hope of glory,
"Me in Christ" - my Sabbath rest,
rest from all my fears and worries,
for in Him I shall be blessed.

So to Christ I shall surrender,
give Him all I have and am.
He's my Lord, and He's my Master,
He's my King, and He's my Lamb."
