I'm broken by the Bread--broken by God's food,
Broken by life's trials as over me they flood.
Broken to submission, broken by the cross,
Broken by His blood donated for the lost.
My Lord allowed the tempter to bring upon me shame
Only that I learn to love, and glorify His Name,
For He alone is worthy, I'll give my all to Him,
I now surrender everything as self begins to dim.
I must no longer harbour any bitterness or pride,
I give it all to Jesus, because for it He died.
My sin and guilt, my anger, my wicked wilful ways
I lay them all down at His feet and start a brand new day.
I promise that I'll serve Him and count myself undone;
I'll honor, love, and worship Him until my day is done,
Until He calls me to His throne where I may know His rest,
I'll keep my eyes on Jesus, and do my very best.
