Have you ever done what's right and been accused of doing wrong?
Have you ever stood your ground against the powerful and the strong?
Have you ever wondered why you're called to take so firm a stand
To do and say and stand up tall and to protect the land?
I'll tell you why, O child of mine, I too was not well liked;
The very times I told the truth and stood up for man's rights
The gates of hell would try to snap and try to close Me in,
Would try to set the trap of unforgiveness and deep sin.
The Pharisees were powerful then, and still are strong today,
For they come upon My people and insist on their 'right' way.
But only they think they are right, for I think it is wrong
To try to tell My people that they control the throng.
Their voice is very loud and powerful 'round the world today
Because most people listen and do just what they say.
But I'm so very happy when My people don't give in
And do what man says they must do in order not to sin
For they would take My own dear lambs to snare and pull them down
To weary and to cause them all to wear a furrowed frown.
Be glad, My child, to choose My way, to walk as I have walked,
To stand up tall and not be sad, and talk as I have talked.
The Pharisees do have much power inside My church today,
But rise up now, and do not let them cause you to dismay
For blessed are you when they shall speak and try to put you down
And you stand up and praise My Name to save your little town.
Just rise up now and speak the truth and follow what I say
For truly you well know that I hear you when you pray.
No powers of hell can touch you child while walking in the light,
The light of My sweet presence in this ever-dark'ning night.
So carry on and look not twice at those who call you foe
When you're really not against them because you love them so.
Just leave them all in My dear hands, I'll use it all for good
If you'll but thank and love Me, My Word will be your food.
I'll be your manna as you tread this dry and thirsty land,
Be not dismayed, be not afraid, I'll take your trembling hand
And lead you on triumphantly through every barren place
But you can only go there by My mercy and My grace.
I'll help you, causing others to come along with you
Even though it sometimes seems that there are very few
But they're your friends, loyal friends, friends who will not falter
When storms arise to upset you, they'll tell you I'm your Father!
