Why Are You Downcast O My Soul?

Why are you downcast O my soul?

Why are you downcast today?

God's on the throne and He loves His own,

No need to be downcast today.

I will hope in God who cares for me

Though storms and trials should come;

I'll seek His will and I'll love Him still

No need to be downcast today.

I see a light in the distance,

It's coming closer each day--

Lord Jesus and thousands of angels,

Are coming to snatch us away!

He's taking us with Him to heaven

To return after the world has been judged,

He'll destroy all His foes and bring peace to those

Who have overcome the present world's sin.

So rejoice and be glad though evils increase,

Remember your King's on His throne;

No time to be sad, just praise and be glad

That our end is not war, but true peace!.
