"Dear Lord of the Universe, I thank You that you are a God who has revealed yourself as a triune God because this helps me understand your nature. It helps me understand that You are unique among the gods of other faiths because You have demonstrated throughout the course of history that You can perform deeds more mighty than they. You are a Father because You fathered a Man who was God himself--Jesus Christ who came to the world in human flesh to live, die and rise from the dead to demonstrate your power over life and death. Then after Jesus returned to heaven, You sent His resurrected Holy Spirit to live within every person who invited Him.
By these deeds, You have shown yourself as God who remains constant throughout the ages, never changing or never moved by time or events. You came in human flesh as the Word of God to teach me how to know You and how to live. This Word, combined with the blood You shed to take away my sin, represents the Bread and Wine I drink at our communion services. By eating the bread and drinking the wine, I commune with You, the only living God, to show how I can be an overcomer by the Word of your testimony and the blood of the Lamb. You are the Bread of life who was broken for me that I might live forever. I am now assured of being an overcomer in this life, and an overcomer at death because I, too, will live forever. I keep an empty cross nearby to remind me that You are a God who was dead but rose again. You no longer hang there on that cross, but You are alive living among and in your own people--You are Immanuel "God with us." I know of no other god who took on human flesh and came to the world as a man. I know of no other god who has made this claim, nor has any other god claimed to have risen from the dead to demonstrate His power over life and death. I know of no other god who claims to be alive within the hearts of his followers. The real difference is that You are a LIVING God. Other gods are inanimate elements of nature--gods of wood and stone who use Satanic "force" to demonstrate their power. Other gods can never demonstrate your nature of love, mercy, and forgiveness because they are not LIVING gods.
I thank You that You have revealed yourself to me in three ways, that You are a triune Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Now I can see why I can never compromise with other religious groups who all claim to worship the one God. My God is not their god. My God plans to return to rule the earth; theirs cannot because they are not Alpha and Omega who lives forever. Satan, the diabolic opposite of all that You stand for, was defeated at Calvary and will be destroyed when You set up your kingdom here on earth. Any person or church who claims they are setting up your kingdom by themselves does not believe in You as the all-powerful God, Lord of all heaven and all earth, a God who will yourself return to set up your kingdom.
You are not the God of other faiths! You are my triune God of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and to You be all glory and honor and dominion and power for ever! Amen.
