Today's message explains how the recent archaeological discovery of the bone-box of "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus" is one more sign of the soon return of Jesus Christ.
So let us listen to article 401, the most recent of my writings.
Recently, the story broke about the discovery in Jerusalem of a 2,000-year-old bone-box inscribed in Aramaic with the words, "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus." With all signs pointing to the box's authenticity, it seems that God has deliberately kept this important biblical evidence a secret for these last days. He knew it would help us return to the Bible.
Because of this finding of a box which the archaeologists believe contained the bones of the James who wrote the Book of James in the Bible, we will all be anxious to read what he wrote.
In the first chapter, James advises any who lack wisdom to pray for it. But since most of us think we know everything, we seldom pray for wisdom. But the Bible says that "the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God" (I Cor. 3:9). Perhaps, just perhaps, we don't know everything!
Because of our lack of biblical knowledge, most of us don't know what God has revealed about the future. Because we haven't read or studied the Bible, we too readily listen to what anyone tells us it says!
Last night I had a vivid dream which has given me a little more insight into what the Bible says is about to take place. The dream was in two parts.
In the first part, I dreamed that I was sitting among a group of teenagers I had taught many years ago in Sunday School, their names and faces vivid before me. I was busy making arrangements for them to attend a large conference overseas, scrambling to obtain passports, tickets etc. But as night drew upon us, they seemed to have disappeared. Then suddenly they all burst into the room holding in their hands all the credentials they needed. I was amazed that THEY HAD OBTAINED EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED WITHOUT MY HELP!
In the second part of my dream I had arrived at a very large banquet. It too was overseas. While the meal was being prepared, I found myself talking to many of the guests, most of them young men who were asking questions about the Christian faith.
I couldn't understand the reason for this banquet. It seemed to be in my honour, yet I felt it was for everyone present.
Then I awoke. I heard these words: "The signs of a heavenly party are all around us." I knew then that the dream was a message to prepare the church to get ready for her removal (or rapture) before the most evil time in history. She is to prepare herself for the greatest party of all time, a heavenly banquet for believers. But each person must make his or her own preparations - nobody else can do it for them.
Those in the first part of my dream represent those to whom we have told the gospel message but thought we had failed. But we had not failed; we had told them about the glorious future if they followed Jesus, and they had done it without our help!
The second part of the dream tells us that our present labours of spreading the gospel are not lost. The rapture of the church with its great festival is a reality - the dead in Christ will rise first, and then those who remain faithful will be carried to heaven (I Thess 4:13-18). Then a great party! We are to continue to tell others that they too are welcome (Matt.22:19 & Rev. 22:17).
Jesus told His disciples that it would be possible to know approximately when He was about to return by the signs of the times: increase in knowledge, increase in evil, more famines, more floods, more earthquakes, Jews returning to Israel. Then there is the recent sign of the finding of the bone-box of James - preserved since the first century...lettering in Aramaic which was the language of Jesus. These signs are becoming more evident every day.
So as I had been doing in my two-part dream, we are not to lose heart when we tell people the good news of the future. What we tell them is only helping them get ready - they must make their own final preparations.
Father God is issuing last-minute invitations to His Son's wedding party. The finding of James' bone-box is to help us bring reality to the good news message of the Bible. Will you be ready for the heavenly party?

The following scripture verses from Revelation 19:6-8 are words the resurrected Jesus spoke to His disciple John about the great heavenly party which He, the Lamb, is going to provide for those who have been faithful. He calls it the "marriage supper of the Lamb."
